"Constantly practice seeing all others as your own self appearing before you in another form. Maintain the recognition that the other person’s Awareness is the same as your own Awareness, that you both share the same “I”. Feel that you could not possibly be any closer to that person than you already are. Feel that you are so much alike deep inside, that your deepest feelings are the same. And feel love. Absorb yourself in love."

The Earth, from an ethereal view from space, I imagine to look like a superhighway with the entering and exiting of souls on a daily basis - two silver threads, one going up, one going down. I’ve often wondered if any intuitive astronauts have ever looked hard enough to witness this vision - all the carnage and mayhem, babies being born, war, famine, murder, disease - just astronomical numbers coming and going every single day.
I wish I could take away all of the pain of all of our existences, for humans and creatures alike, but I cannot. For to live is to suffer; this is the way of the Buddha. If we did not suffer, if we did not live out our karmic lessons, we would cease to exist. The key is to transcend, or release our ego so that we suffer less while we are here. If we can manage to do this, on any level, we feel our souls being greatly unburdened with life’s daily “problems”. When you begin to truly live in the Present, you will see that life gets so much simpler. No more rat race, no more stress or worries, no rush rush of your hum drum life, no more consuming or achieving - you simply let everything BE what it is and let it all go.
This concept, reality, truth, whatever you want to call it, came to me while reading Michael Singer’s The Untethered Soul, along with Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now, both of which I still keep open on my Kindle and frequently refer back to. They are lifelong lessons that I will be practicing until the day my own silver thread finally ascends to that unknown dimension. You never “achieve it” or "get there". You simply walk the path, stay the course, and stay ever present of the Tao, if you will.
Is it easy? Fuck no! Is it worth it? Fuck yes! Ever since experiencing my own mind altering “transcendence” last fall, I have plateaued to a state of bliss, grace, peace, and happiness every day. I worry about nothing - I know that every day all of my needs will be met from the great and abundant Universe. Things I previously saw as negatives or problems have now become merely learning opportunities. It’s all a matter of “simply” (haha) shifting our perceptions of the way we see the world around us. Instead of desiring for the world to be the way we think it SHOULD be (which is our ego mind), we see and accept the world and all of its events just the way they are. Think about this for a minute. Our reality, at every waking moment, is purely subjective to how we choose to react to what is happening around us. How is it that 10 people can look at a painting in a museum and have 10 different interpretations of it? Why is one person terrified of bungee jumping and the next dude digs it? It’s the exact same with life. One person’s junk is another person’s treasure so to speak. If our ego tells us that an event is “bad” or “good”, this is our ego’s way of keeping us forever a slave to its whims. For without this constant 24/7 labeling and categorizing of things, the creating of problems, angst, judgment, expectations, the ego cannot exist. So it all comes down to a matter of who controls whom. Are you going to let your ego continue to dominate you and therefore suffer, or are you going to wrest the controls of the vessel, which is your true Consciousness, YOU, away from the ego and truly begin to achieve the life of your dreams? The choice is yours but I for one have finally come to know one thing - The ego is a whining, sniveling, complaining, problem making, drama creating, all consuming piece of shit that must die within all of us before our beautiful Earth dies before our eyes. It is only through giving up our egos and all of the greed, consumption, ignorance, pride, jealousy, envy, and so on that we will survive and our precious planet can make it. It is also the only true way that you will ever have the life you truly desire. So go ahead - save a life, murder your ego. Your soul (which is your "real" you) will thank you for it.
